Morocco: Fouzi Lekjaa elected for four years as president of the Federation

Fouzi Lekjaa was elected president of the FRMF (Royal Moroccan Football Federation) until 2017, at the end of the ordinary general meeting on the 11/11/2013. He succeeds Ali Fassi Fihri, in office since 16/04/2009. Fouzi Lekjaa profited from the withdrawal of his opponent, Abdelilah El Akram, who becomes VP of the Federation.

An agreement was also found to allow some of the leaders on Abdelilah El Akram's list to sit in a future professional league and the three regional leagues (North, Central and South), which will be implemented to manage Moroccan football.

"What we have experienced is quite positive because democracy has spoken. The ideal outcome to all of this is to have succeeded in reaching a consensus on the proposals of all parties. This agreement is in the national interest in general and in the interest of national football in particular," said Fouzi Lekjaa, president of the FRMF on the 11/11/2013.
