Formula One Group, the US holding company and rights holder of Formula 1, has extended its agreement with the Snapchat, the photo and video sharing app, to offer its fans coverage of the upcoming Formula 1 Grand Prix via the "Our stories" feature on Snapchat's "Discover" platform for the 2018 and 2019 seasons, on 16/03/2018. Formula One Group partnered with Snapchat on 13/07/2017.

With the "Our Stories" feature, fans around the circuit can, thanks to the geo-location service on their smartphone, send photos and videos on the application to share their experience. Snapchat then makes a selection of videos sent by fans and publishes them online on the story "Our stories" of the Grand Prix visible to all users of the application.

"The new agreement increases Snapchat’s coverage of grand prix events from seven in 2017 to double-digits in 2018," according to media sources. The 2018 Formula 1 season begins with the Australian Grand Prix on 25/03/2018 and ends with Abu Dhabi on 25/11/2018.
