Puma: Usain Bolt and Borussia Dortmund united by the equipment supplier for a training session

The German brand Puma united the former Jamaican athletics champion Usain Bolt and players from Borussia Dortmund (Bundesliga), for two training sessions, open to the public, at the German club's facilities on 22 and 23/03/2018 .

The sprinter, who retired from the sport in 2017, trained for the first time with football players and "asked for some serious expertise from Borussia Dortmund's training team," said the club on 23/03/2018.

The club and the athlete are both sponsored by Puma. The German brand has been the equipment supplier for Borussia Dortmund since 2012-13 and until the end of the 2019-20 season (estimated value of €7.5m annually).

Usain Bolt has been Puma's ambassador since 2003 until 2025. The value of the agreement was estimated at $10m (€8m on 27/03/2018) in 2017, his last year of competition; and has risen by $4m (€3.2m) since the end of his athletics career.

Puma, Usain Bolt and Borussia Dortmund posted photos and videos from the training sessions on their various communication platforms.
