As part of the public consultation on the YelloPark project (urban and real estate project of a 40,000 capacity stadium, to replace the Beaujoire), Waldemar Kita, president of FC Nantes (the club being the owner of the stadium project) presented "the architectural plans for the future stadium," on 29/03/2018.

The new stadium will include a roof with a fixed part and a central retractable oculus, a museum and a shop (see below). The main objectives are "to improve comfort and accessibility, the openness and continuity of spaces, enhance visibility for the public, ensure the preservation of atmosphere and stadium connectivity, and to keep a low carbon footprint," according to FC Nantes.

"These first drafts meet the needs of the club exposed in consultation meetings held since February (2018) and detailed in its specifications, they will allow everyone to better understand the new stadium project and power them to appropriate and enrich it," added the club.
