Serie A TIM: AC ChievoVerona to issue €3m in sports bonds via KickOffers (trading platform)

"The first football trading platform in Europe is coming to Italy," said Associazione Calcio ChievoVerona (Serie A TIM) on 22/03/2018. The Verona (ITA) club will issue €3m in bonds, the return of which will be variable and determined according to criteria related to the sporting results of its team, on "KickOffers", a new mainstream trading platform dedicated to football, from 04/04/2018.

The annual interest rate of the bonds will be determined at the end of the season according to ChievoVerona's standing in the Serie A TIM, the team's course in the Coppa d'Italia (TIM Cup), individual performances of selected players (goals, assists, and cards), and any capital gain realised during player transfers (see below).

"This is the first time a product of this type has been launched on the Italian market, it is also a novelty at the European level, where there are already cases of emissions by the football clubs of mini-bonds bought by the fans, but without the possibility for them to exchange them," explained Filippo Sciorilli Borrelli, CEO and co-founder of KickOffers, on 22/03/2018.
