ESPN: launch of ESPN+ (OTT Sports platform) in the United States on 12/04/2018 ($4.99/month)

ESPN+, an OTT sports platform, will be launched on 12/04/2018 at the monthly rate of $4.99 (€4), according to the US sports channel ESPN (subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company), on 02/04/2018. The American entertainment and media group announced the creation of an OTT platform dedicated to sport, on 07/08/2017.

The ESPN+ platform will offer, over 250 MLS games per season (all "out-of-market" games), 180 MLB games, 180 NHL games (beginning the 2018-19 season), three of the four NHL tournaments, Grand Slam tennis (Wimbledon, the US Open and the Australian Open) and college sports competitions, according to the US sports channel.

"ESPN+ will be an integrated part of a completely redesigned and reimagined ESPN App that will be the premier all-in-one digital sports platform for fans. ESPN+ will also be available through ESPN.com," added ESPN.
