England: Ritchie Humphreys installed as president of Professional Footballers Association

Ritchie Humphreys has been officially installed as president of the PFA (Professional Footballers Association) during the association's AGM in Manchester, on the 13/11/2013. He succeeds Clarke Carlisle, who was in office since 2010.

Ritchie Humphreys, former Chesterfield FC (English 4th Division) midfielder and member of the executive committee of the association since November 2009, was unanimously elected by the Management Committee of the PFA, on the 26/09/2013.

"Some players may feel like that they can't speak to [delegates] or for whatever reason not be comfortable speaking to the staff at the PFA. What I would like to say as chairman is that I am available to speak to any player and it goes without saying that any conversations will remain 100% confidential," said Ritchie Humphreys, on the 13/11/2013.

Humphreys has been a graduate coach since 2010. He is also a member of the committee set up by the FA (Football Association) to improve the performance of English football on the international scene.
