Brazil and FC Barcelona (La Liga, ESP) striker Neymar has become the official ambassador for the instant mobile messaging application WeChat, announced Tencent Holdings, developer of the service, on the 12/11/2013.

WeChat offers free voice and written communication. Users can also share photos, videos and location data. Neymar becomes the second international ambassador of the service, after his teammate Lionel Messi also signed with WeChat in July 2013.

Launched in China in January 2011 (under the name of Weixin), WeChat has been available on the international market since April 2012. The application has 400 million users (16/08/2013), including 100 million outside China, making it the fifth most used application in the world, behind Google Maps, Facebook, YouTube and Google+.
