2018 World Cup: Russian Railways becomes "Official European Supporter" of the competition in Europe

Russian Railways, a Russian national railway company, has become an "Official European Supporter" of the 2018 World Cup, according to FIFA on 05/04/2018. The agreement is a third level partnership in the sponsorship hierarchy of FIFA and the World Cup in Russia.

Russian Railways will gain association rights for the event in Europe. "Russian Railways will play a key role in the transportation operation around the 2018 FIFA World Cup matches. Fans have already booked half of the 440,000 seats available free of charge for ticket holders traveling between the Host Cities. In total, 728 additional long-distance trips on 31 routes have been scheduled between the opening and final matches," said FIFA.

Russian Railways will become the fourth Russian partner of the competition, after Gazprom (energy, FIFA partner, first level), Alfa-Bank (regional supporter in Europe, third level), and Rostelecom (regional supporter in Europe, third level).
