"Remgro (South African holding company) has been a fantastic shareholder in Saracens RFC (Aviva Premiership) for the last nine years and, as shareholders do, they have decided to reduce their shareholding and I am very happy to say that I've decided to buy all their shares as I have huge faith and commitment to this club and everything it stands for," announced Nigel Wray, co-shareholder and chairman of Saracens RFC, on 03/04/2018.

Before the acquisition, Nigel Wray owned 50% of the club and Johann Rupert, president of Remgro, the other 50%. Nigel Wray may seek to sell the club, according to British media. Saracens accumulated £15.13m (€17.2m on 30/06/2017) in operating losses over four seasons between 2013 and 2017, £2.73m (€3.1m) of which was during the fiscal year 2017 which ended on 30/06/2017.
