"50 years ago members provided 80% of revenue. Today this figure is 7%, and the amount from memberships cards is only 2%. Economic sustainability and the association structure are non-negotiable, and truly define the identity of the club," stated Pere Jansà Rodriguez, the director of the socio area of FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander), in his talk titled "Community Ownership and a Global Strategy: Challenge or Opportunity", at the Socio Membership Structure conference in Split (CRO) on 10/04/2018.

The European Club Association is organising, in partnership with HNK Hajduk Split (Prva HNL, CRO), one of its member clubs, a conference on the structure of football clubs owned by their supporters, titled "'Socio' Membership Structure: From Strategy to Implementation, Management, and Practice", in Split (CRO) on Tuesday 10 and Wednesday 11/04/2018.
