2018 World Cup: Sky Deutschland acquires the TV rights for 25 matches in ultra HD via SportA

The pay-TV group Sky Deutschland has acquired via a sublicence with SportA, the media rights agency of the German public broadcasters ARD and ZDF, the TV rights in Germany, exclusively and in ultra-high definition of 25 matches of the 2018 World Cup (from 14/06 to 15/07/2018 in Russia) on 04/04/2018.

Sky Deutschland will co-broadcast the best game on each day of the competition. This includes the German team, four Round of 16 matches, two quarter-finals, the semi-finals, the match for third place and the final.

ARD and ZDF acquired the broadcasting rights in Germany for the 2018 World Cup for an estimated €200m in April 2012.
