"Until the OFC Congress in June 2018, no interim OFC president will be appointed. The OFC will be led collegially by the entire executive committee until an election for the position of president is held in June. The elected member will serve out the current term of OFC president, which concludes in 2019, announced the Oceania Football Confederation, after its executive committee meeting, in Auckland, New Zealand, on 08/04/2018.

"FIFA has taken note of the resignation of David Chung (Papua New Guinea) as a member of the FIFA council and as president of the OFC (Oceania Football Confederation) for personal reasons," announced the international federation, on 06/04/2018. David Chung is suspected of financial irregularities during the construction of the new OFC Home of Football, the headquarters of the confederation in Auckland (see below).

The mandate of the new OFC president, to be elected in June 2018, will conclude in 2019 as originally planned.
