Champions League: Bayern Munich - Sevilla draws 8.9 million viewers in Germany on ZDF (free-TV)

The FC Bayern Munich (Bundesliga) - Sevilla FC (LaLiga Santander) quarter-final return leg of the 2017-18 Champions League (0-0, 2-1 on aggregate, Bayern qualify for the semi-finals), drew an average of 8.9 million viewers in Germany on the public TV channel ZDF, on Wednesday 11/04/2018 (kick-off at 20:45 CET). This figure represented an audience share of 30%.

The German public TV group ZDF broadcasts the best match of each day of the Champions League for free, as well as the final, for the 2015-2018 cycle. ZDF pays around €50m annually.

The match drew 660,000 viewers on Sky Deutschland. The German pay-TV group, pays an estimated €70m annually to broadcast 146 games per season, including 128 exclusively during the 2015-2018 cycle according to German media.
