LaLiga: €3.6bn in cumulative revenue in 2016-17 (+15.6%), €234 million in pre-tax profit

€3.662bn is the cumulative revenue of LaLiga (which includes the 20 first division clubs in LaLiga Santander, and and the 22 second division clubs in LaLiga 1|2|3) in 2016-17, announced the Spanish professional football league in presenting its 2016-17 financial report on 19/04/2018.

Spanish club revenues are "up €495m from 2015-16, a growth rate of 15.6%," said LaLiga. "This is the best season in terms of economic and financial results," said Javier Gomez Molina, the corporate managing director of LaLiga. Profit before tax reached €234m.

Of the €3.6bn in cumulative revenue, €1.45bn (39.6%) came from audiovisual rights (2016-17 was the first formal season with a of centralised marketing system for TV rights).

Other sources of income:
• Matchday (ticketing, hospitality, catering, etc.): €746m (20.4%).
• Sponsorship: €622m (17%).
• Transfers: €475m (13%).
• Advertising: €117m (3.2%).
• Other income: €245m (6.7%).
