LaLiga: "The challenge is a balanced mix of business, so club revenues are diversified" (J. Guerra)

"One of the main challenges we see today is for clubs to achieve a balanced 'mix' of business, so that the sources of club revenue is diversified among other lines or business areas that are not audiovisual revenues," stated José Guerra Álvarez, the head of corporate operations at LaLiga, to News Tank Football on 19/04/2018.

Spanish professional football (which includes the 20 first division clubs in LaLiga Santander, and and the 22 second division clubs in LaLiga 1|2|3) achieved €3.662bn in cumulative revenue in 2016-17, announced LaLiga in presenting its 2016-17 financial report on 19/04/2018. Profit before tax reached €234m.

"In the last 5 seasons, Spanish professional football has experienced a continuous annual growth, above two digits, which translates into an increase in income by 64%.
