Serie A TIM: Qatar Airways (airline) becomes the main shirt sponsor of AS Roma until 2020-21

Qatar Airways has become the main shirt sponsor of AS Roma (Serie A TIM) until the end of the 2020-21 season, announced the club on 23/04/2018. "The sponsorship (is) the largest ever signed by the club and one of the biggest ever agreed by an Italian football club," said AS Roma. The value of the agreement could be €40m over the three seasons, from 2018-19 to 2020-21, or about €13.3m per year according to Italian media.

The agreement makes Qatar Airways a main global partner, in the first level in the sponsorship hierarchy of the club. It will be only AS Roma's seventh shirt sponsor in the club's 90-year history. AS Roma have been without a shirt sponsor since the end of the 2012-13 season and the end of their agreement with the Italian telecom group Wind, the club's main shirt sponsor for the 2007-2013 period. Wind paid approximately €7m a year (including up to €1m based on sporting results) following the last extension signed in 2010.

Additionally, the South Korean car manufacturer Hyundai is set to become AS Roma's back of the shirt sponsor for three seasons (2018-2021)…
