European cups: "The new format will unbalance our national championships" (European Leagues)

"We need to protect the competitive balance of our domestic leagues. The new European competition format for the 2018-2021 cycle will profoundly unbalance our national championships, regardless of their size, by redistributing even more money to the wealthiest clubs. Even the big European clubs now realise that this reform will, in the medium and long term, be against their interests, because it will reduce the value of domestic competitions," said Lars-Christer Olsson (SWE), president of European Leagues, to News Tank Football, at the end of the first "Club Advisory Platform" organised by the European Association of Professional Leagues, in Amsterdam (NED) on 23/04/2018.
