Brazil 2014: France qualify, final spot between Uruguay and Jordan

France qualified for the XX World Cup (12/06 to 13/07/2014) in Brazil, by beating Ukraine 3-0 at the Stade de France on the 19/11/2013. The Blues had lost 2-0 in Kiev on the 15/11/2013.

The other teams that qualified after the European play-offs on the 11/19/2013, were: Portugal, Croatia and Greece respectively, at the expense of Sweden, Iceland and Romania.

In Africa, Algeria and Ghana got their tickets for the World Cup after beating Burkina Faso and Egypt.

Mexico became the 31st qualified team after their victory (4-2) in New Zealand (5-1 in the first leg), on the 20/11/2013.

31 of the 32 teams competing in the 2014 World Cup are known, on the morning of the 20/11/2013. The last place will be decided on the 20/11/2013, in the match between Uruguay and Jordan (Uruguay won the first leg 5-0, and will host Jordan).

  • The draw for the finals will be held on the 06/12/2013 in Costa do Sauipe, State of Bahia, Brazil.
  • The composition of the four pots of eight teams will be determined by FIFA, on the 03/12/2013.
  • During the draw, the 32 teams will be divided into eight groups of four.
