Scotland: Graham Wallace joins Glasgow Rangers as CEO

Graham Wallace has been appointed chief executive of Glasgow Rangers (Scottish 3^rd Division), the club announced on the 20/11/2013. He replaces Craig Mather who resigned on the 16/10/2013. Between November 2010 and March 2013 Graham Wallace was the managing director of Manchester City (Premier League).

"Following an extensive recruitment process the board interviewed several high calibre individuals and determined that Graham was by far the outstanding candidate for the position," said David Somers, chairman of Glasgow Rangers, on the 20/11/2013.

"I am delighted to join Rangers Football Club as chief executive as the club continues its journey back to the pinnacle of the game in Scotland and beyond," said Graham Wallace, on the 20/11/2013. "Now it is the turn of the board and management to provide the stability and governance to drive Rangers' recovery forward and ensure further football success."

• The Scottish club are trying to rebuild themselves after being demoted to the fourth division in 2012-13, with an accumulated debt of more than €160 million.
