eSports: FC Bayern Munich Basketball launches professional team on the NBA 2K18 video game

FC Bayern Munich Basketball (easyCredit BBL) has launched its first professional eSports team "Bayern Ballers Gaming", on the NBA 2K18 video game from the American publisher Visual Concepts, on 20/04/2018. This is the first eSports team of the German club. FC Bayern Munich (Bundesliga) has not yet launched an eSports team as of 27/04/2018.

The first recruitment campaign, reserved for German, Austrian and Swiss players, will end on 10/05/2018. 40 players will then be selected to play a qualifying tournament, the "Audi Dome eCup", which will be held at the Audi Dome (Munich, GER, 6,700 capacity), "at the end of May", said the club. After the tournament, eight players will join the Bayern Ballers Gaming eSports team.

"After a training and development phase for the team from June 2018, the Bayern Ballers Gaming team will participate in its first official matches in August 2018," said FC Bayern Munich Basketball.
