Mediaset: €90.5m net profit in 2017, loss of €75m for the pay-TV subsidiary Premiumi n Italy

The Italian media group Mediaset announced a turnover of €3.631bn for the 2017 financial year (01/01 to 31/12/2017), following the meeting of its board of directors on 24/04/2018. This represents a decrease of 1% compared to 2016 (€3.667bn). Mediaset recorded operating profit (EBIT) of €316.5m (-€189.2m in 2016) for 2017. The net profit for the 2017 fiscal year of Mediaset was €90.5m (-€294.5m in 2016).

Mediaset's turnover in Italy amounted to €2.636bn in 2017, down 1% year-on-year (€2.676bn in 2016). The turnover of Mediaset España is up 0.4%: €996.3m in 2017 compared to €992m in 2016.

In Italy, the pay-TV subsidiary Mediaset Premium recorded revenue of €662.96m (€705.3m in 2016, -6%), operating profit of €96m (-€384m in 2016). ) and a net loss of €75m for the 2017 fiscal year, according to the Italian specialised website Calcio e Finanza.

• Mediaset's net financial debt amounted to €1,392.2m as of 31/12/2017, compared with €1,162.4m on 31/12/2016 (+19.8%), and €859.4m on 31 December 31/12/2015 (+62% in two years).
