2018 World Cup: a $2m advance from FIFA for each of the five qualified African teams

"The five African qualified teams for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia namely Egypt, Morocco, Nigeria, Senegal and Tunisia, will each receive an advance of $2m (€1.66m) of their prize money from FIFA towards their preparations," announced CAF, on 30/04/2018.

"The decision follows negotiations initiated by CAF president Ahmad Ahmad with the FIFA administration, leading to the exceptional agreement granted on 12/04/2018. It follows a decision by the CAF Emergency Committee held on 01/12/2017, and ratified by the CAF Executive Committee on 10/01/2018, to provide exceptional financial support to the five African representatives towards their preparations for the impending tournament in Russia," added the African Confederation.

The five national federations concerned were therefore invited to contact the FIFA Finance Division.
