Latvia: Kaspars Gorkss, former international team captain, is elected president of the LFF

Kaspars Gorkss, 36, who played 89 games for the Latvian national team between 2005 and 2017, has been elected president of the Latvian Football Federation (Latvijas Futbola federācija, LFF) at the Riga General Assembly on 27/04/2018. Gorkss obtained at total of 56 votes, versus 48 for Vadim Lasenko and 4 for Krisjanis Kavins.

"Gorkšs, who will serve a two-year term, succeeds Guntis Indriksons, who has stepped down after being at the helm of Latvian football since 1996 - a period during which Latvia qualified for the UEFA EURO 2004 finals in Portugal. Indriksons has been named LFF honorary president," said UEFA on 20/04/2018.
