Facebook: nearly 258 million likes in total for the 20 Premier League clubs (May 2018)

The 20 clubs involved in the 2017-18 Premier League season have a cumulative total of over 257.9 million likes on the social network Facebook, according to data collected by News Tank Football on 01/05/2018. This total makes the Premier League the most popular European league on Facebook, with an average of 12.9 million likes per club.

Manchester City FC was the Premier League club with the best growth in absolute value in April 2018 with 1.9 million additional likes (+5.9%). Passing the 34 million likes mark, the 2017-18 Premier League champions have the fourth-highest total in the Premier League. Southampton FC posted the best percentage growth (+11.8%), for the third consecutive month.

Manchester United FC remain the most popular English club with nearly 73.7 million likes. Chelsea FC, the 2016-17 Premier League Champions, are second with 47.8 million likes. 14 clubs in the English league have at least one million likes, a record in the Top 5.
