Facebook: 75.4 million likes in total for the 18 Bundesliga clubs (May 2018)

The 18 clubs involved in the 2017-18 Bundesliga season have a cumulative total of over 75.4 million likes on the social network Facebook, according to data collected by News Tank Football on 01/05/2018. The Bundesliga is the fourth most popular Top 5 league on Facebook, behind the Premier League, LaLiga Santander and the Serie A TIM with an average of nearly 4.2 million likes per club.

FC Bayern Munich are the most popular German club with nearly 46.4 million likes and were the club which posted the best growth in absolute value with more than 1.2 million likes in April 2018. The 2017-18 German champions were also the Bundesliga club which posted the best percentage growth (+2.8%) over this period.

11 out of 18 clubs posted a decrease in their number of likes compared to on 01/04/2018. This drop could be explained by a "cleanup" operated by Facebook, which removes the likes given by "bots" (robots) or by inactive or even deactivated accounts.
