LaLiga: memorandum of understanding with the Thai League to develop football in Thailand

"LaLiga and the Thai League (body in charge of the organisation of the Toyota Thai League, composed of 18 clubs) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) under which they will work together, initially over the next two seasons, to promote football development," said the Spanish league, on 18/04/2018.

The two-year partnership "will see LaLiga advise its Thai counterpart on the creation of sporting academies for youngsters and a development programme that will include training visits to Spain for under-16s, under-19s and under-21s players. The Spanish league will also "provide the Thai League with guidance on how to develop the women's game in the Southeast Asian country, as well as on the creation of content related to its competitions and digital strategies to boost the profile of Thai professional football," added LaLiga.

The objectives of the 26^th agreement signed by LaLiga with a foreign league are:
• To increase the visibility of Thai professional football
• To transfer LaLiga's methods to Toyota Thai League clubs
• To fight match-fixing
• To fight audiovisual piracy.
