Twitter: 14.1 million followers in total for the 18 Bundesliga clubs (May 2018)

The 18 clubs participating in the 2017-18 Bundesliga season have a cumulative total of over 14.1 million followers on the social network Twitter, according to data collected by News Tank Football on 01/05/2018. The Bundesliga is the least popular Top 5 league on Twitter, with an average of 785,192 followers per club.

FC Bayern Munich are the most popular German club on Twitter, with 4.4 million followers, up 1.3% from the beginning of April 2018. The Bavarian club is the only Bundesliga club with more than 4 million followers. Borussia Dortmund, second, has more than 3.2 million (3,219,239 as of 01/05/2018). The two clubs comprise 54.3% of the total followers of the 18 Bundesliga clubs.

VfB Stuttgart, the sixth most popular German club on Twitter, was the only Bundesliga club that experienced a downward trend on the social network, with a loss of 12,346 followers (-2.3%). For the sixth consecutive month, RB Leipzig were the club with the best percentage growth (+1.8%) but remain at the bottom of the ranking with 160,621 followers on 01/05/2018.
