2018 World Cup: One month away from the opening match, Russia - Saudi Arabia, Thursday 14/06/2018

Russia - Saudi Arabia (Group A) will be the first of 64 matches of the 21^st World Cup at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow (RUS) on Thursday 14/06/2018 (kick-off at 18:00 local time, 17:00 CET).

This World Cup will be the first to use video assistant referees, in accordance with the decision of the FIFA Council on 16/03/2018. "It’s a big step for football. FIFA together with the International Football Association Board (IFAB) have really been developing this system from scratch. The results have been outstanding. I can imagine for the public in Russia that some fans from some nations where VAR is not used will be surprised sometimes, but I believe they’ll understand and be informed about VAR if they’re coming to Russia. They can accept that this is something great for our game.
