The Australian pay-TV group Fox have acquired the broadcasting rights in Australia for the 2013 Club World Cup, on the 22/11/2013. The tournament takes place in Morocco from the 11 to 21/12/2013.

Fox Sports will broadcast the tournament's eight games live, starting with the opening match between Morocco's Raja Casablanca and New Zealand's Auckland City FC, who won the 2012-13 edition of the OFC (Oceania Football Confederation) Champions League.

"It's going to be a fantastic summer (which begins on the 22/12 in Australia) for football fans on Foxtel with every game of the Hyundai A-League (Australian first tier) and Barclays Premier League continuing throughout the summer months as well as La Liga and the Fifa Club World Cup on Fox Sports and the UEFA Champions League over on ESPN," said Patrick Delaney, chief executive of Fox Sports Australia.

"The success of football as the 'it' sport of the summer and the fact that we have the best team steering our coverage has led to really strong ratings," said the head of Fox Sports.
