Bundesliga: FC Bayern Munich to launch FCB Digital & Media Lab (digital and multimedia subsidiary)

FC Bayern Munich (Bundesliga) have created the "FCB Digital & Media Lab", a new digital and multimedia subsidiary, which will be launched from the beginning of the 2018-19 season, announced the club on 16/05/2018. The branch will be chaired by Stefan Mennerich, head of media, digital and communication at FC Bayern Munich, who will be joined by Michael Fichtner, who will also continue as CFO of FC Bayern Munich.

The FCB Digital & Media Lab GmbH will be used to refine the club's digital expertise and to offer data and media services to third parties in the market. "The areas to be combined into FCB Digital & Media Lab include editorial activities (social media, website, TV, print), production, digital marketing and CRM, digital platforms and digital innovation, IT and technology plus the operation of FC Bayern TV Live output," said the Bavarian club.
