All Champions League games played on the 26/11 and 27/11/2013 will pay tribute to the victims of Typhoon Haiyan that struck the Philippines on the 08/11/2013, indicated UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) on the 25/11/2013.

Before the start of each match, a banner will be displayed as a sign of support to the country, with the inscription "Hindi kayo nagiisa, Pilipinas" ("You are not alone, Philippines").

"The entire European football family will stand united on the pitch this week before our matches, in order to express our deepest sympathy and full support to the Philippines, and we wish them continued strength in tackling the subsequent problems following the tragedy," said Michel Platini, president of the European body.

Typhoon Haiyan killed 5,200 people in the Philippines, but 1,600 people are still missing. A total of 11.8 million Filipinos have been affected by the tragedy, and more than 920,000 are homeless. The financial cost could rise to $14 billion (€10.3 billion).
