Russia 2018: Nike receives 3 million orders for the 2018 Nigeria shirt, on sale from 29/05/2018

The American sports equipment brand Nike has received 3 million orders for Nigeria's 2018 national team shirts since their presentation on 07/02/2018, according to the brand and the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) on 17/05/2018.

The home and away shirts, which Nigeria will wear at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, will be on sale from 29/05/2018 in Nigeria and abroad, at a price of $85 for the replica shirt (€85 on the European version of Nike's online store) or $140 for the authentic shirt (€140).

Nigeria's 2018 home shirt is considered by specialist websites and many internet users as one of the most successful designs among those of the 32 participating teams of the 2018 World Cup.

"The home kit pays subtle homage to Nigeria's '94 shirt (an adidas shirt worn by Nigeria's first team to qualify for the tournament held in the United States) with its eagle wing-inspired black-and-white sleeve and green torso," said Nike. The shirts are also inspired by the 1995 Nike shirt worn by the Nigerian team that won gold at the Olympic games in Atlanta (United States).
