2017-18 Serie A TIM: a cumulative TV audience of 299 million subscribers (-2.4%) on Sky and Mediaset

A cumulative total of 299 million viewers in Italy watched the matches of the 2017-18 Serie A TIM season (175.52 million Sky Italia subscribers, 89.87 million Mediaset Premium subscribers and 33.63 million additional subscribers for the multiplexes of the two groups), according to data from the audience measurement institutes AGB (Nielsen group) and Auditel, and published by the Lega Serie A.

The overall TV audience was down 2.4% compared to the 2016-17 season. The matches broadcast on Sky Italia were up 4.9%, while those on Mediaset Premium were down 14.3%.

As in 2016-17, Juventus FC was the club with the highest average audience with 1.8 million viewers per game (-7.2% compared to in 2016-17). FC Internazionale Milano were second (third in 2016-17) ahead of AC Milan (second in 2016-17), SSC Napoli and AS Roma.

The best TV audience of the season was the Juventus - SSC Napoli (0-1) game (Matchday 34), which drew a total of 3,356,289 subscribers (2,341,533 on Sky Italia and 1,014,756 on Mediaset), on Sunday 22/04/2018 (kick-off at 20:45 CET).
