Premier League: Standard Chartered (bank) extends as shirt sponsor of Liverpool FC until 2022-23

The British bank Standard Chartered has extended as the main shirt sponsor of Liverpool FC (Premier League) for four additional seasons, or until "the end of the 2022-23 season", announced the Merseyside club on 24/05/2018.

Standard Chartered has the status of main sponsor, the first level in the sponsorship hierarchy of the club. The bank became the main sponsor of the Reds at the beginning of the 2010-11 season, initially until 2012-13, then extended twice, first until 2015-16 and then until 2018-19 (on 21/04/2015).

Standard Chartered pays Liverpool FC an estimated £30m (€34.2m on 24/05/2018) per season over the 2016-2019 period. The amount could reach £40m (€45.6m) per season over the 2019-2023 period, according to British media on 24/05/2018.

  • At the end of the 2022-23 season, the partnership between Standard Chartered and Liverpool FC will have lasted 13 seasons, the second longest shirt sponsorship in the history of the club, after their 18 season partnership with the Danish beer brand Carlsberg Sector: beer brand Founded: 1847 Main brands: Carlsberg, Baltika, 1664
