Ligue 1 Conforama: Saint-Étienne ends negotiations with PEAK6 fund (USA) for the sale of the club

"AS Saint-Étienne (Ligue 1 Conforama) has decided to end all discussions and negotiations with the US group PEAK6 (PEAK6 Investments LP, a US investment fund based in Chicago, Illinois)," said the club on 24/05/2018.

PEAK6 Investments LP, a minority shareholder in particular of AS Roma (Serie A TIM) and AFC Bournemouth (Premier League), had entered into exclusive negotiations with Bernard Caïazzo (chairman of the supervisory board) and Roland Romeyer (chairman of the executive board) for the acquisition of the Saint-Étienne club on 15/05/2018.

"The investments planned by PEAK6 into the club do not correspond to the commitments needed made to make ASSE a long-term and ambitious club. The current shareholders remember that the club has suffered significant damage related to unfulfilled commitments (of other parties) to ASSE which have not been respected," said AS Saint-Étienne.

"We have decided, with Roland Romeyer, to take back our freedom. For us there is a real problem of good faith," said Bernard Caïazzo to the French sports daily L'Équipe on 25/05/2018.
