Champions League 2013-14: Paris-SG, new leader in guaranteed income (€42.1 million)

At the end of the match-day 5 of the group stage of the 2013-14 Champions League, on the 26 and 27/11/2013, NTF have published an updated table of income for participating clubs who are already insured to receive their share from UEFA (Union of European Football Associations), organisers of the competition.

Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1, FRA), who beat Greek team Olympiakos (2-1, Group C, 27/11/2013) have qualified for the next round. This qualification earns them an additional €3.5 million, allowing the Parisians to reach a total of €42.1 million in guaranteed minimum income and so exceed Juventus, who until now were top of the 2013-14 revenue list.

The Italian club, despite their victory over Denmark's FC Copenhagen (3-1, group B, 27/11/2013), are not yet assured of qualification to the second round, and now rank second in guaranteed minimum income, with nearly €39 million in accumulated income.

Juve held the top spot even before the competition began, on the 17/09/2013, with €36.5 million in guaranteed minimum income. This amount can be explained by the size of the Italian TV market…
