eSports: first tournament with FIFA game for Aston Villa, alongside launch of "AVFC Gaming"

Aston Villa FC (Sky Bet Championship) will launch its first eSports tournament with the FIFA 18 game to mark the launch of its eSports section "AVFC Gaming", the club said on 24/05/2018. "FIFA 18 gamers will be able to enter a series of tournaments via PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, and compete against other qualifiers to earn Pro Points and, eventually, exclusive prizes," said the club.

"Players will compete in seven, week-long qualifier tournaments. Pro Points will be awarded based on the number of matches won in each tournament. Gamers who fail to qualify will be given another opportunity to do so in the elimination tournament, by competing in a single 'Last Chance Qualifier round' - the winner of which will go straight to the final. A special 'Wildcard tournament' will also take place on the final weekend, with the winner going straight through to the final. The three winners of the qualifier tournaments, along with the 'Last Chance Qualifier’ will then battle it out for the right to win prizes.
