"We do not want Canal+ to lose subscribers, but to win more, and I have a lot of respect for Canal+, which has been a model for us, and we want to be distributed by all operators (in France) including Canal+. We did not come here to buy 10 rights and resell 12," said Jaume Roures, president and founder of Mediapro, in Paris (FRA) on 31/05/2018.

The Chinese-Spanish audiovisual group Mediapro was awarded three lots (1, 2 and 4, including the games on Sunday at 21:00, Friday at 21:00, Saturday at 17:00, Sunday at 13:00 and the 4-game multiplex on Sunday at 15:00) of the seven offered on 29/05/2018. Mediapro should pay €780m per year according to French media.

"Ligue 1 is worth more than the operators currently pay (€726.5m per year for the 2016-2020 cycle).
