FIFA: Philippe Diallo re-elected single judge of the Dispute Resolution Chamber

Philippe Diallo, director general of the UCPF (French Union of Professional Football Clubs), was re-elected single judge to FIFA's DRC (Dispute Resolution Chamber), on the 28/11/2013. He was elected unanimously by the representatives of players and clubs in the DRC, having been reappointed by FIFA's Executive Committee.

Diallo starts a second four-year term (until 2017), having been first elected in 2009.

As a single judge, he may be asked to settle disputes "in cases that are urgent or raise no difficult factual or legal issues" according to Article 23 of FIFA's "Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players".

In other cases, the composition of the DRC is variable, but generally includes a club representative, a player representative and the chairman.

  • Mission: provides arbitration and dispute resolution on the basis of equal representation of players and clubs, headed by an independent chairman, currently Geoff Thompson from England.
