FIFA: Council to designate host candidates for the organisation of the 2026 World Cup on 10/06/2018

"Designation for the selection by the FIFA Congress of the host association(s) of the final competition of the 2026 FIFA World Cup", is item number 4.2.4 on the agenda of meeting no.7 of the FIFA Council, scheduled at the Radisson Royal Hotel Moscow (RUS), on Sunday 10/06/2018.

Two candidature files have been submitted for the 2026 World Cup, one by Morocco and the other by the trio of Mexico, Canada and the United States. "Following the assessment by the 2026 Bid Evaluation Task Force ­- and provided the FIFA Council submits a designation - the decision on whether to select one of the above bidders to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup will be taken by the 68^th FIFA Congress, which will convene in Moscow (RUS) on 13/06/2018 (the eve of the opening match of the 2018 World Cup)," said FIFA on 06/04/2018.
