Bundesliga: Adidas extend contract as official ball supplier until 2017-18

Sports equipment manufacturer Adidas have extended their contract with the DFL (German Football League) as official ball supplier in the Bundesliga and 2.Bundesliga (German second division), for three years, announced the league, on the 16/08/2013. The contract will run until the end of the 2017-18 season.

The agreement was renewed by the DFL's Board of Directors and the Bundesliga after a tender organised in May 2013 by DFL Sport Enterprises, who manage the media and commercial rights of the Bundesliga.

Adidas have been the official ball supplier to the Bundesliga since 2010-11. For the 2013-14 season, the ball selected, "Torfabrik 4" (goals factory) has a design inspired by a silver shield, which, since 1949, has been the trophy awarded to the German league champions.
