FIFA: president Gianni Infantino to stand for re-election in Paris (FRA) on 06/05/2019

"I would like to announce to all of you - the members of FIFA, who elected me two years and four months ago - that I will be standing for re-election next year," announced Gianni Infantino, FIFA President since 26/02/2016, at the end of the 68^th congress, in Moscow (RUS), on 13/06/2018. Infantino will be a candidate for a four-year term (2019-2023) during the election scheduled at the 69^th FIFA Congress, in Paris (FRA), on 05/06/2019.

On 26/02/2016, the day of the election, FIFA was a clinically dead organisation. Today it is very much alive, full of joy and passion, with a vision for a future. I was elected on the basis of a programme and with all of you, have tried to put it into practice," said Gianni Infantino to the 68^th Congress. "I am humbly proud of what we have done over the past two years," he added later, in a press conference.
