Financial Fair Play: no sanctions for PSG but the club remains "under close scrutiny" by UEFA

"The CFCB Investigatory Chamber decided to close the investigation into Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1 Conforama)," said the Investigatory Chamber after the examination of the balance between revenues and expenses of the Parisian club for which it is in charge, in compliance with Financial Fair Play Regulations on 13/06/2018.

"Such decision follows a detailed review of transfer contracts and an analysis of the related management accounts which confirmed that such transactions were in line with the UEFA Club Licensing & Financial Fair Play Regulations," added the CFCB.

Paris Saint-Germain recruited Neymar Jr (BRA) and Kylian Mbappé (FRA) for record amounts (€222m for Neymar and a loan with a purchase option of €145m+€35m bonus for Mbappé), in August 2017. An article by the British Financial Times dated 11/04/2018 referred to the club's sponsorship deals with entities close to Qatar Sports Investments (QSI, owner of PSG) and overvalued in order to present higher revenues and that were more in line with Financial Fair Play Regulations (deficit limited to €30m for 2017-18).
