Serie A TV rights: "We change the way the world sees sport" (James Rushton, DAZN)

Since launching almost two years ago, we have disrupted the industry in multiple markets as we change the way the world sees sport," said James Rushton, CEO of the OTT sport platform DAZN, following the acquisition by Perform Group of 114 Serie A matches per season, for the 2018-2021 cycle, on 13/06/2018.

This is the first time that Serie A matches have been acquired exclusively by an OTT broadcaster. "We believe that there are ongoing negotiations between Sky Italia and Perform to avoid a double subscription," said Gaetano Miccichè, president of the Lega Serie A, after the awarding of the rights.
