LaLiga Santander: an average of 26,894 spectators (-4.3%) and a fill rate of 71% in 2017-18

The 20 LaLiga Santander clubs posted an average of 26,894 spectators per game during the 2017-18 season, down -4.3% compared to 2016-17 (28,109 spectators). LaLiga Santander was the only European Top 5 league to see its average attendance decrease. Despite this, the league remains third place in the rankings behind the Bundesliga (an average of 44,646 spectators) and the Premier League (38,273).

With an average of 69,272 spectators per match at the Camp Nou (99,354 capacity, 70% fill rate), FC Barcelona was the Spanish club that posted the best attendance of the 2017-18 LaLiga Santander season. However, with a drop of nearly 11.8% in average attendance, Barça moved from second to fourth place in the European Top 5 behind Borussia Dortmund (Bundesliga), who for the fifth consecutive season, rank higher in terms of attendance, than Manchester United FC (Premier League) and FC Bayern Munich (Bundesliga).
