Premier League: €117 million in commission paid to players agents in 2012-13 (+26%)

The 20 Premier League clubs paid £96.67 million (approximately €117 million) in commission to players agents between the 01/10/2012 and 30/09/2013. This represents an increase of €23.7 million (+ 26%) compared to the 2011-12 season, according to a report published by the Premier League, on the 30/11/2013.

Chelsea rank first, with more than €16.5 million paid to agents, an increase of 112% compared to the same period in 2011-12. They are followed by Manchester City (€13.5m, + 6%) and Tottenham (€11.8m, + 49%). Southampton have the highest increase (+ 238%) in payments to agents from €780,561 in 2011-12 to €2.6m in 2012-13.

Since the 2009-10 season, Premier League clubs have been required to publish annual records of the amounts paid to sports agents.
