Attendance: an average of 30,906 spectators per game in the Top 5 in 2017-18 (fill rate: 79%)

The 98 clubs competing in the European Top 5 leagues during the 2017-18 season drew an average attendance of 30,906 spectators per game, up 5.4% from 2016-17 (29,318 spectators per games) .The average fill rate of Top 5 clubs reached 79% in 2017-18, an increase of 1% compared to the previous season.

With an average of 44,646 spectators per game in 2017-18, the Bundesliga remains the no 1 league in the Top 5 in terms of attendance, and even increases its lead by posting the best increase with an additional 3,154 spectators on average (+7.6%) compared to 2016-17 (41,492 spectators). This performance is mainly due to the relegation of SV Darmstadt 98 (Jonathan-Heimes-Stadion am Boellenfalltor: 17,400 capacity) and FC Ingolstadt 04 (Audi Sportpark: 15,200 capacity) to the 2.Bundesliga, combined with the promotion of VfB Stuttgart (Mercedes-Benz Arena: 60,449 capacity) and Hannover 96 (HDI Arena: 49,000 capacity) at the end of the 2016-17 season.
