Bayer 04 Leverkusen: a three year youth football partnership with V-Varen Nagasaki (J1 League, JPN)

Bayer 04 Leverkusen (Bundesliga) have signed a three-year partnership agreement with Japanese club V-Varen Nagasaki (J1 League) which "involves close cooperation between the youth sections of the two clubs," according to the German club on 22/06/2018.

As part of the agreement, the Bayer Leverkusen U17 team will travel to Nagasaki City once a year to participate in a training camp which will begin in July or August 2018. Two coaches from the club's German academy will also spend a week in Japan to train their V-Varen Nagasaki counterparts. In exchange, the best young people from the Japanese club will participate in U17 and U19 Bayer Leverkusen training sessions in Germany, over a four week per year period.

"In addition to the sporting aspects, this partnership also plays an important role in the internationalisation of the club," said Florian Dederichs, head of brand and sales management at Bayer 04 Leverkusen.
