Adidas release "Brazuca", the official ball of the 2014 World Cup

Adidas have released "Brazuca", the official ball of the 2014 World Cup, on the 04/12/2013. Available in stores and on the company's official website, the ball costs €140. A replica is also available for €30.

The company unveiled the new ball on the 3/12/2013 with a 3D light projection launch event, held at the Parque Lage in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), in the presence of several former great players such as Brazilian Cafu (138 caps, 5 goals) and Dutchman Clarence Seedorf (86 caps, 11 goals).

"My first impression of brazuca is of a ball that is fantastic and we're going to have a lot of fun with it. Adidas have created an incredible-looking ball fitting for a tournament as big as the World Cup," said Dani Alves, Brazilian international (72 caps, 5 goals) on the 03/12/2013.

The "Brazuca" name was chosen in September 2012 following a public vote in Brazil involving 1 million football fans. Adidas also want to extend the experience with their fans on the Internet by implementing several tools which focus on the ball, including an official Twitter account - @Brazuca
